Li Xiannian

Li Xiannian was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and politician who served as president of the People’s Republic of China from 1983 to 1988.

Mao Zedong: Mao Zedong was a Chinese Communist revolutionary who led the People’s Republic of China from its founding in 1949 until 1976. Li served under Mao and held senior economic and political posts during his rule.
President of the People's Republic of China: The head-of-state office of the People’s Republic of China, whose powers are defined by the constitution and political practice. Li held this largely ceremonial office from 1983 to 1988.

Hua Guofeng: Hua Guofeng was a Chinese Communist leader who succeeded Mao Zedong as the party’s paramount leader. Li held senior government roles during Hua’s brief leadership after Mao’s death.
National People's Congress: The National People’s Congress is China’s national legislature and formally the country’s highest state organ. It elected Li president in 1983 and reelected him in 1988.
