Liquid fuel

A combustible substance that is liquid under ordinary handling conditions and releases usable energy when burned. Examples include petroleum products, alcohols, and biofuels.

Particulate matter: A mixture of microscopic solid particles and liquid droplets suspended in air. Incomplete combustion of some liquid fuels produces harmful airborne particles.
Solid fuel: A combustible material in solid form, such as coal, wood, or charcoal. Solid fuels are harder to meter and move through many engine systems.
