Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird

The SR-71 was a U.S. strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed by Lockheed’s Skunk Works. It gathered intelligence while cruising above Mach 3 at high altitude.

Pratt & Whitney J58: A turbojet engine designed to power the SR-71 at sustained speeds above Mach 3. Its variable-cycle operation supplied thrust across the Blackbird’s wide speed range.
