Longchenpa

Longchenpa (1308–1364) was a Tibetan Buddhist master and scholar who systematized Nyingma teachings, especially the contemplative tradition of Dzogchen.

Nyingma: The oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, tracing its transmission to the early Tibetan empire. Longchenpa’s work became one of the Nyingma school’s most influential philosophical foundations.
Rigpa: In Dzogchen, nondual awareness that recognizes the mind’s primordial nature. Longchenpa describes recognizing rigpa as central to Dzogchen’s path.
