Lorna Wing

Lorna Wing (1928–2014) was a British psychiatrist whose research helped establish autism as a spectrum and popularize the term Asperger syndrome.

Judith Gould: A British psychiatrist and researcher who studied autism in children and adults. Wing and Gould’s Camberwell study documented a broad range of autistic presentations.
Autism spectrum: A range of developmental profiles involving persistent differences in social communication and restricted or repetitive patterns of behavior. Wing helped replace narrow categories with a view of autism as a continuous spectrum.
