Lubumbashi

Lubumbashi is a city in southeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and the capital of Haut-Katanga Province. It is a major center of the country’s copper and cobalt industries.

Élisabethville: Élisabethville was the colonial-era name of Lubumbashi, used from its founding until 1966. The city was established as Élisabethville under Belgian colonial rule in 1910.
