Magic: The Gathering

Magic: The Gathering is a collectible strategy card game in which players build decks, spend mana to cast spells and summon creatures, and compete to reduce opponents’ life totals or meet other victory conditions.

Mana: Mana is the resource spent to cast spells and activate many abilities in Magic: The Gathering. Players produce mana from lands and other sources to pay cards’ costs.
Trading card game: A trading card game is a game in which players collect cards and use selected cards to play customized decks. Magic helped establish the collectible, customizable form of this game genre.
Richard Garfield: Richard Garfield is an American game designer who created Magic: The Gathering. His design established the game’s cards, resource system, and expandable format.
Commander (Magic: The Gathering): Commander is a multiplayer Magic format built around a legendary creature and a 100-card singleton deck. Its social, multiplayer rules make deck identity and table politics especially visible.
Pokémon Trading Card Game: The Pokémon Trading Card Game is a collectible game in which players use Pokémon cards to battle. It shares collectible deck construction but centers play on Pokémon and prize cards.
