Malacca City

Malacca City, also called Melaka, is a city in southwestern Malaysia and the capital of Malacca state. Its historic centre reflects centuries of Malay, Portuguese, Dutch, and British rule.

Sultanate of Malacca: A Malay sultanate that became a major Southeast Asian trading power in the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. The city grew as the sultanate’s port and political centre before Portuguese conquest in 1511.
