Malcolm III of Scotland

Malcolm III ruled Scotland from 1058 until his death in 1093. His reign strengthened royal authority and involved repeated conflict with England.

Duncan I of Scotland: King of Scots from 1034 to 1040, killed by Macbeth after a short reign. Malcolm was Duncan’s son and later restored his family’s claim to the throne.
Margaret of Wessex: An English royal and saint who married Malcolm III and promoted religious reform in Scotland. Her marriage linked Malcolm’s court to English royal culture and ecclesiastical reform.
Battle of Alnwick (1093): A 1093 battle in Northumberland where Malcolm III and his son Edward were killed. The campaign ended Malcolm’s reign and triggered another Scottish succession crisis.
