Manaslu

Manaslu is an 8,163-metre mountain in Nepal’s Mansiri Himal and the world’s eighth-highest peak. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word for “mountain of the spirit.”

Manaslu first ascent: The 1956 Japanese expedition led by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu Sherpa that first reached Manaslu’s summit. This expedition established the first successful route to the mountain’s summit.
