Manganese(II) carbonate

Manganese(II) carbonate is an inorganic salt with formula MnCO₃, composed of manganese(II) cations and carbonate anions. It occurs naturally as the mineral rhodochrosite.

Carbonate: A polyatomic ion, CO₃²⁻, and the family of compounds containing it. The carbonate anion pairs with manganese(II) to form this salt.
Manganese ore: A naturally occurring material mined for its manganese content. Rhodochrosite can serve as a manganese-bearing ore.
Rhodochrosite: A manganese carbonate mineral, usually pink to red, with ideal formula MnCO₃. It is the naturally occurring mineral form of manganese(II) carbonate.
