Manuel Blanco Encalada

Manuel Blanco Encalada (1790–1876) was a Chilean naval officer and politician who became Chile’s first president in 1826, serving briefly under the title Supreme Director.

Bernardo O'Higgins: A Chilean independence leader who served as supreme director from 1817 to 1823. Blanco Encalada served in the navy during O'Higgins’s government and independence campaigns.
