Margaret Lindsay Huggins

Margaret Lindsay Huggins (1848–1915) was an Irish-born British astronomer who collaborated with her husband, William Huggins, on pioneering astronomical spectroscopy and its photographic methods.

William Huggins: William Huggins was an English astronomer who pioneered the use of spectroscopy to study celestial objects. Her husband and research collaborator, he shared the observatory and much of the work associated with their discoveries.
Astronomical spectroscopy: Astronomical spectroscopy analyzes the spectra of celestial objects to infer their composition, motion, temperature, and other properties. This was the central method she and William Huggins helped establish for studying stars and nebulae.
