Marinid dynasty

A Berber dynasty that ruled Morocco from the mid-13th century until 1465, succeeding the Almohads and establishing its capital at Fez.

Zenata: A Berber tribal confederation historically associated with northwestern Africa. The Marinids belonged to the Zenata and drew their early power from its networks.
Fez: A historic Moroccan city that became a major political, religious, and intellectual center. Fez served as the Marinid capital and the central stage of dynastic government.
