Mario

Mario is a mustachioed Italian plumber and Nintendo video-game hero who first appeared in the 1981 arcade game Donkey Kong.

Donkey Kong: Donkey Kong is a 1981 arcade game in which a carpenter named Jumpman tries to rescue a woman from a giant ape. Mario first appeared as Jumpman, the player character trying to rescue Pauline.
Luigi: Luigi is Mario’s younger twin brother and a Nintendo video-game hero who often appears as his player-two counterpart. He shares Mario’s adventures and anchors the series’ most familiar sibling partnership.
