Maurice Bishop

Maurice Bishop was a Grenadian revolutionary who led the People’s Revolutionary Government from 1979 until his execution during the 1983 coup.

New Jewel Movement: A Grenadian political movement founded in 1973 that opposed Eric Gairy and led the 1979 revolution. Bishop co-founded this movement and became its most prominent leader.
