Max Steiner

Max Steiner (1888–1971) was an Austrian-born American composer whose orchestral scores for films including King Kong and Gone with the Wind helped shape Hollywood’s classical film-scoring tradition.

King Kong (1933 film): The 1933 film directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack, featuring an orchestral score by Max Steiner. Steiner’s score used leitmotifs and synchronized music to intensify the film’s action and emotion.
