Media spectacle

Media spectacle is the use of dramatic images and performances to organize public attention and political meaning. It turns events into compelling public narratives through media.

Framing (social sciences): Framing is the selection and emphasis of aspects of an issue that shape how audiences interpret it. Media spectacles make some interpretations salient while pushing others out of view.
