Metre per second

Metre per second (m/s) is the SI unit of speed and velocity, equal to one metre of displacement or distance per second.

Metre: The SI base unit of length, defined by fixing the speed of light in vacuum. It supplies the length unit in the numerator of m/s.
Anemometer: An instrument that measures wind speed. Wind measurements commonly report speeds in metres per second.
Kilometre per hour: A unit of speed equal to one kilometre traveled in one hour. It is common in road signs, unlike the SI unit m/s.
