Knowra Michael Chekhov Michael Chekhov Michael Chekhov (1891–1955) was a Russian-American actor, director, and acting teacher. His psychological and physical approach to performance became known as the Chekhov technique.
Chekhov technique : An acting method that uses imagination, physical action, and psychological gesture to shape performance. This is the practical method Chekhov developed and taught.
