Michael Gambon

Michael Gambon (1940–2023) was an Irish-English actor whose career spanned theatre, television, and film. He played Albus Dumbledore in six Harry Potter films.

Albus Dumbledore: The headmaster of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter stories, portrayed by Gambon in six films. This role made Gambon familiar to a worldwide film audience.
Laurence Olivier: English actor and director celebrated for Shakespearean stage and screen performances. Olivier recruited Gambon into the National Theatre company in 1963.
Dennis Potter: English television dramatist known for formally inventive works including The Singing Detective. Potter wrote the role that brought Gambon major television recognition.
