Michael Servetus

Michael Servetus (c. 1511–1553) was a Spanish theologian and physician who rejected the Trinity and was executed for heresy in Geneva. His writings also described pulmonary circulation.

Aragon: A historic kingdom in northeastern Iberia, united with Castile under the Spanish monarchy. Servetus was born in the Aragonese village of Villanueva de Sigena.
John Calvin: A French Protestant theologian who led the Reformation in Geneva. Calvin denounced Servetus’s theology and supported his prosecution in Geneva.
Trinitarianism: Christian doctrine that God is one being in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Servetus rejected this doctrine, making his theology heretical to Catholic and Protestant authorities.
