Michelangelo Antonioni

Michelangelo Antonioni (1912–2007) was an Italian film director and screenwriter whose modernist films explored alienation, communication, and changing social worlds.

L’Avventura: A 1960 film by Michelangelo Antonioni in which a woman disappears during a Mediterranean island trip. Its disappearance plot gives way to the emotional uncertainty central to Antonioni’s modernist cinema.
