Mike Bossy

Mike Bossy was a Canadian professional ice hockey right winger who played for the New York Islanders from 1977 to 1987. He helped the team win four consecutive Stanley Cups and became one of the NHL’s most prolific goal scorers.

1980 Stanley Cup Finals: The championship series in which the New York Islanders defeated the Philadelphia Flyers to win their first Stanley Cup. Bossy scored the overtime winner in Game 1 as the Islanders began their four-title run.
Goal (ice hockey): A score in ice hockey awarded when the puck completely crosses the goal line between the posts and beneath the crossbar. Bossy’s career was defined by repeatedly turning scoring chances into goals.

NHL 50 goals in 50 games: The achievement of scoring 50 goals within a player’s first 50 games of an NHL season. Bossy reached the mark in 1980–81, matching a record set by Maurice Richard.
