Mike Powell

Mike Powell is an American former long jumper who set the men’s long jump world record of 8.95 metres at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo.

1991 World Championships in Athletics: The third World Athletics Championships, held in Tokyo from August 23 to September 1, 1991. Powell broke the long jump world record during this meet’s final.
