Mikhail Gromov

Mikhail Gromov is a Russian-French mathematician whose work reshaped differential geometry, topology, and geometric group theory, including the study of spaces through their large-scale structure.

Riemannian geometry: The study of smooth manifolds equipped with a metric that measures lengths and angles. Gromov developed powerful methods for comparing curved spaces and their global properties.
