Minyue

Minyue was an ancient kingdom centered in present-day Fujian, southeastern China. The Han dynasty conquered it in 111 BCE.

Fujian: A coastal province in southeastern China, bordered by Zhejiang, Jiangxi, and Guangdong. Minyue’s core territory lay in the region now called Fujian.
Han–Minyue War: The Han campaign that destroyed Minyue’s independent kingdom in 111 BCE. This campaign was the decisive military event in Minyue’s history.
Wuyishan City Site: An archaeological site in Fujian associated with the capital of the ancient Minyue kingdom. Its remains are among the clearest material evidence for Minyue’s royal center.

Han dynasty: A Chinese imperial dynasty that ruled from 202 BCE to 220 CE, with an interruption by Wang Mang. The dynasty that conquered Minyue and incorporated its territory into imperial rule.
