MKUltra

MKUltra was a secret CIA program, begun in 1953, that investigated drugs, hypnosis, and other methods of influencing human behavior. Its experiments included unwitting human subjects and involved universities, hospitals, prisons, and other institutions.

LSD: LSD is a potent psychedelic drug that alters perception, mood, and cognition. CIA researchers administered it to investigate whether psychedelic effects could enable interrogation or behavioral influence.

Project MKOFTEN: Project MKOFTEN was a CIA and U.S. Army program that studied the effects of drugs and other substances. Its relationship to MKUltra is often blurred, though it was a distinct program with overlapping interests.
