Möbius strip

A one-sided surface with one boundary, formed by joining the ends of a strip after giving it a half-twist. Its nonorientability makes a continuous choice of surface normal impossible.

Nonorientable surface: A surface on which no continuous choice of orientation is possible. The half-twist makes the Möbius strip a basic example of nonorientability.
Topological space: A set equipped with a collection of open subsets that defines notions such as continuity. The Möbius strip is studied by properties preserved under continuous deformation.
