Montane forest

Montane forests grow in mountainous regions, where elevation and local climate shape their vegetation, structure, and distribution.

Altitudinal zonation: The arrangement of ecological communities in distinct bands along changes in elevation. It describes how montane forest types shift as conditions change up a mountain.
