Montgomery Clift

Montgomery Clift (1920–1966) was an American film and stage actor known for emotionally restrained performances in A Place in the Sun, From Here to Eternity, and The Misfits.

A Place in the Sun: A 1951 film directed by George Stevens, starring Montgomery Clift as a factory worker whose affair and ambitions lead to tragedy. Clift’s George Eastman makes ambition and guilt visible through hesitation rather than grand gestures.
