Mōri Motonari

Mōri Motonari was a Japanese daimyō who expanded his clan’s power across the Chūgoku region during the Sengoku period. His victories and alliances established the Mōri clan as a major force in western Japan.

Battle of Miyajima: A 1555 battle in which Mōri forces defeated Sue Harukata on Itsukushima Island. Motonari used surprise and the island’s terrain to destroy a powerful regional rival.
