Motorsport safety comprises vehicle designs, circuit features, equipment, and procedures intended to reduce the risk and severity of injury or death in motor racing.

Safety cell: A reinforced vehicle structure designed to preserve survival space around occupants during a crash. Its rigid passenger compartment resists intrusion when a racing car deforms.
