Mount Erebus

Mount Erebus is an active stratovolcano on Ross Island, Antarctica. It is known for its persistent convecting lava lake and frequent small eruptions.

Lava lake: A persistent body of molten lava exposed within a volcanic crater or vent. Erebus is one of the few volcanoes with a long-lived, exposed lava lake.
