Muezzin

A muezzin is a person who announces the times of Muslim prayer by reciting the call to prayer, or adhan. The role is traditionally associated with a mosque and its minaret.

Adhan: The Islamic call to prayer, recited to announce the times of the five daily prayers. It is the announcement a muezzin performs.
Bilal ibn Rabah: An early Muslim companion of Muhammad, remembered in Islamic tradition as the first muezzin. His association with the earliest call to prayer anchors the role’s traditional history.
