Muslim conquest of Transoxiana

The seventh- and eighth-century Arab campaigns that brought Transoxiana, between the Amu Darya and Syr Darya, under Muslim rule.

Qutayba ibn Muslim: An Umayyad general who led campaigns across Transoxiana from 705 to 715. His offensives established the most extensive early Umayyad control in the region.
Muslim conquest of Persia: The seventh-century campaigns that ended Sasanian rule and brought Persia under Muslim government. The fall of Sasanian Iran opened the eastern frontier toward Transoxiana.
