Nadine Gordimer

Nadine Gordimer (1923–2014) was a South African novelist and short-story writer whose fiction examined apartheid, racial inequality, and political life. She received the 1991 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Apartheid: A system of institutionalized racial segregation and white minority rule in South Africa from 1948 to 1994. Its laws and daily inequalities form the central political setting of much of Gordimer’s fiction.
