Nagisa Ōshima

Nagisa Ōshima was a Japanese film director and screenwriter associated with the Japanese New Wave. His films include In the Realm of the Senses and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence.

In the Realm of the Senses: A 1976 film by Nagisa Ōshima depicting an obsessive sexual relationship in 1930s Japan. Its explicit sexuality brought Ōshima international attention and legal controversy in Japan.
