Namma Metro

Namma Metro is Bengaluru’s rapid-transit rail network, operated by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). It serves the city through elevated and underground lines.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is the joint venture that plans and operates Namma Metro. The corporation manages the network’s construction and day-to-day operations.
Bengaluru Metro Phase 1: Bengaluru Metro Phase 1 created the network’s first two operational corridors. Its Purple and Green lines established metro service in the city.

Bengaluru Metro Phase 2: Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 is an expansion program adding routes and extensions to the network. It extends service beyond the corridors opened in Phase 1.
Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project: The Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project is a planned commuter rail network for the metropolitan region. Its proposed role overlaps with metro travel while serving longer regional trips.
Induced demand: Induced demand is increased travel that follows an expansion of transport capacity or access. Improved metro access can change how often and where people travel.
Namma Metro Green Line: The Green Line is a Namma Metro route running between north and south Bengaluru. Its north–south corridor complements the Purple Line’s east–west route.
Bengaluru Metro Phase 3: Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 is a planned expansion of the city’s metro network. It represents a later stage of planned network growth.
