Nasiriyah

Nasiriyah is a city on the Euphrates River in southern Iraq and the capital of Dhi Qar Governorate. Founded in the 19th century, it is a regional center near the ancient Sumerian city of Ur.

Muntafiq: An Arab tribal confederation historically influential in southern Iraq. The confederation’s sheikh, Nasir al-Saadun, founded the city.
