National communism

National communism is a form of communism that prioritizes national sovereignty and adapts communist policies to a country's political and cultural conditions.

Titoism: The Yugoslav communist doctrine associated with Josip Broz Tito, combining one-party rule with independence from Soviet control. Yugoslavia's break with Stalin became a prominent model of communist independence.
Russian Revolution: The 1917 revolutions that overthrew the Russian monarchy and brought the Bolsheviks to power. The Soviet state that followed became the center against which independent communist paths were defined.
Marxism–Leninism: A communist ideology based on Lenin's theory of a vanguard party and a revolutionary transition to socialism. National communist projects adapted this shared ideological foundation to local priorities.
Proletarian internationalism: The principle that workers share political interests across national borders and should cooperate internationally. National communism gives sovereignty greater weight than this internationalist emphasis.
