Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai is a planned city in Maharashtra, India, developed across Thane Creek from Mumbai. It was designed to absorb growth and reduce pressure on the older metropolis.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority: A Maharashtra government planning agency responsible for regional infrastructure and development around Mumbai. It coordinated the regional planning behind Navi Mumbai’s creation.
Node (urban planning): A distinct planned district within a larger urban area, often combining housing, services, and employment. Navi Mumbai was organized as a sequence of separate urban nodes.
Vashi: A major residential and commercial node in Navi Mumbai, near the Vashi Creek bridge. Vashi became one of the earliest developed and best-connected nodes.

Mumbai Trans Harbour Link: A road bridge connecting Sewri in Mumbai with Nhava Sheva in Navi Mumbai. The link creates a direct road connection across the harbour.
