NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award

The NBA award presented to the player judged most outstanding in each NBA Finals series. It has been awarded annually since 1969, with one exception in 2020 when the Finals were still held.

1969 NBA Finals: The NBA championship series in which the Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games. The award began after this series, with Jerry West becoming its first recipient despite losing.
