Nellie McClung

Nellie McClung was a Canadian writer, politician, and social reformer who campaigned for women’s suffrage and helped secure women’s legal recognition as persons in Canada.

Persons Case: The 1929 British Imperial decision that established women as eligible persons under the British North America Act. McClung joined the Famous Five petitioners whose challenge produced this ruling.
