Nicklas Lidström

Nicklas Lidström is a Swedish former professional ice hockey defenseman who played his entire NHL career with the Detroit Red Wings. He captained the team to four Stanley Cup championships and won seven Norris Trophies as the league’s best defenseman.

1991 NHL Entry Draft: The annual event at which NHL teams select eligible players; Detroit drafted Lidström 53rd overall in 1991. Detroit selected Lidström in the third round, beginning his path to the NHL.
