Nigel Farage

Nigel Farage is a British politician and broadcaster who led the UK Independence Party and founded Reform UK. He has been a prominent advocate of British withdrawal from the European Union.

UK Independence Party: A British political party founded in 1993 that campaigned for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. Farage led UKIP for several periods and made it a national force.
Brexit: The United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union, completed on 31 January 2020. Farage’s long campaign for withdrawal helped build public and political pressure for Brexit.
First-past-the-post voting: An electoral system in which the candidate with the most votes wins a constituency, without requiring a majority. It often limited UKIP’s parliamentary representation despite substantial vote shares.
Conservative Party (UK): A major British political party traditionally associated with conservatism and centre-right politics. Farage’s parties challenged Conservative support among voters seeking a harder line on Europe and immigration.
