Nima Yooshij

Nima Yooshij was an Iranian poet who pioneered modern Persian poetry by loosening classical rules of meter, rhyme, and poetic form.

She'r-e now: A modern Persian poetic movement that broke from classical forms while developing new rhythms and subjects. Yooshij’s experiments established the movement’s defining break with classical verse.
