Nineteenth Dynasty of Egypt

The Nineteenth Dynasty ruled Egypt during the New Kingdom, conventionally dated to about 1292–1189 BCE. Its kings included Seti I and Ramesses II.

Ramesses II: A pharaoh of Egypt who ruled for roughly 66 years and became known for monumental construction and campaigns in the Levant. His long reign made him the dynasty’s most prominent ruler.

Ramesside period: The era of Egyptian history associated with the Nineteenth and Twentieth Dynasties, both ruled by Ramesses-named kings. The dynasty’s model of kingship and monumental display continued into the next ruling house.
