Ninth Dynasty of Egypt

The Ninth Dynasty was a ruling house based at Herakleopolis Magna during Egypt’s First Intermediate Period. Its kings are poorly documented, and its boundaries with the succeeding Tenth Dynasty remain uncertain.

First Intermediate Period: A period of political fragmentation between Egypt’s Old and Middle Kingdoms. The dynasty ruled during this era of competing regional powers.
