Nobel Prize controversies are public disputes over who receives Nobel awards, who is excluded, and how selections reflect scientific, literary, or political judgments.

Lise Meitner: An Austrian-Swedish physicist whose work helped explain nuclear fission; she shared none of the 1944 Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Otto Hahn. Her omission from the fission prize became a lasting example of disputed recognition.
